Mode of Examination

JEE Advanced is a computer-based test where candidates have to attempt two papers: Paper 1 and Paper 2.

Question Types

The exam consists of two types of questions: multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and numerical answer-type questions. The marking scheme for MCQs in JEE Advanced varies for each question and is mentioned in the question paper. For numerical answer-type questions, there is no negative marking. Each paper of the JEE Advanced exam has a duration of three hours. The questions in JEE Advanced are designed to assess a candidate’s analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and in-depth understanding of the subjects.
