Job Description

  • Advanced Schematic Reading: Train the student to navigate and interpret complex, multi-layered circuit schematics and high-density layout diagrams with precision.
  • EDA Tool Integration: Deliver comprehensive lessons on using Altium Designer or Cadence Allegro specifically for schematic capture and cross-probing during the debugging process.
  • Logic Troubleshooting: Teach systematic approaches to isolating faults within power stages, microcontrollers, and high-speed communication interfaces.
  • Design Review Practice: Help the student identify common layout pitfalls such as ground loops, EMI issues, and thermal management errors before production.

Tutor Requirements

To be successful, you must have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering and substantial experience in hardware validation or PCB design. We require a mentor who is intimately familiar with the features of Altium or Allegro, including design rule checks (DRC) and netlist management. You should be capable of explaining the physics of signal behavior and have a patient, methodical approach to technical instruction. Previous experience in a corporate R&D or electronics manufacturing environment is highly preferred to ensure the student learns current industry standards. You must be able to travel to the student’s location and provide clear, structured lesson plans.
