Job Description
- Scripting for Automation: Teach the student how to write Python scripts specifically designed to automate the control of laboratory equipment and measurement tools.
- Instrument Communication: Provide instruction on using libraries like PyVISA, PySerial, or Scpi to communicate with instruments over GPIB, USB, and Ethernet interfaces.
- Test Framework Development: Guide the student in building structured test suites and handling real-time data acquisition for hardware validation.
- Debugging Hardware Interfaces: Mentor the student on troubleshooting communication errors between the script and physical lab gear to ensure seamless execution.
Tutor Requirements
The candidate must hold a degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, backed by significant industry experience in test automation. You should have a deep understanding of the Python ecosystem, particularly libraries used for scientific and hardware interfacing. Extensive knowledge of SCPI commands and various communication protocols (RS232, TCP/IP) is essential. We require a tutor who has successfully implemented automation in a lab or manufacturing setting and can translate that experience into a structured curriculum. You must be comfortable teaching online, possessing excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to explain complex automation logic to a learner with varying levels of experience.
